Filling-
4 cups frozen
blackberries
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
Toss all ingredients
in a bowl and set aside.
Crust-
2 cups all purpose
flour
1/2 t. salt
2/3 c. shortening
7 T. cold water
Preheat oven to 375°.
In a mixing bowl stir together flour and salt. Cut in shortening till pieces
are the size of small peas. Add water and toss together with fork till all is
moistened. Divide dough in half. On a floured surface, roll one half of dough
out. Line pastry dish. Fill with blackberry filling. Roll other half out. Place
on top of filling. Trim pastry, flute edges and cut slits in dough to allow
steam to escape. Sprinkle with sugar. Cover with foil. Bake for 50 minutes.
Remove foil. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until top is golden brown. Serve with
ice cream.
